Hello!
About Me
Hi, I’m Alexa — a birth and postpartum doula based in Seattle.
I came to this work through a deep curiosity about birth and a passion for the human experience. I’m drawn to the way birth marks both an ending and a beginning, a transformation that’s emotional, physical, and frankly, badass.
Being a doula allows me to support people during one of life’s most powerful transitions. My goal is to offer steady, compassionate care as you move through this phase, whether you're preparing for birth, recovering postpartum, or simply needing someone in your corner.
My Philosophy & Approach
I support my clients with a blend of evidence-informed, intuition-led, and education-based care. Whether you need calm reassurance or a fierce advocate, I strive to be the steady presence you need in each moment.
I believe you deserve to feel safe, seen, and respected in all of your choices. My work is grounded in mental health awareness, inclusive care, and body autonomy, especially for plus-size individuals, who are so often overlooked in birth and healthcare spaces. I’m here to honor your choices, not push an agenda.
Training & Background
I’m committed to lifelong learning and continuously growing my skill set to better support birthing people and new families.
Postpartum doula training through Bastyr University (DONA International-certified course)
Birth doula training with Sharron Muza (DONA International-certified course)
Currently pursuing certification with DONA International
A Little About Me
When I’m not supporting families, you’ll likely find me out on the water, crafting something by hand, hiking in the forest, or hanging out with my dog Lando. I’m fascinated by animals, especially orcas (the ultimate caregivers of the PNW), and I know way too many facts about them.
I believe some of the best wisdom comes from living fully — embracing both the joy and the mess — and staying open to people, nature, and all the wild beauty of being human.

I want to acknowledge that I live and work on the ancestral land of the Duwamish People, who have cared for this area for thousands of years. I’m grateful to be here and recognize the Duwamish Tribe’s ongoing connection to this land.

As a doula, I believe everyone deserves safe, respectful, and compassionate care, and I recognize that not everyone receives it equally. Racism, especially in birth and healthcare systems, causes real harm.
I’m committed to listening, learning, and actively working against racism in all its forms. This means continuing my education, seeking out resources that challenge me to grow, and showing up in ways that are accountable and informed. I also believe in collaboration and community, and am dedicated to supporting and working alongside BIPOC birth workers, whose voices, leadership, and lived experiences are essential to this work.
