Hello!

About Me

Hi, I’m Alexa Aliotta - a certified birth and postpartum doula based in Seattle.
I came to this work because birth is genuinely fascinating to me. It’s one of the most intense, transformative things a human body can do, and I wanted to be in the room for it. Honestly? Pretty badass that I get to do this for a living.

Being a doula means I get to show up for people during one of the biggest moments of their lives. Whether you’re gearing up for birth, navigating the postpartum fog, or just need someone reliably in your corner, that’s exactly where I want to be.

My Philosophy & Approach

My approach blends evidence-based knowledge with genuine intuition. Sometimes you need someone to calmly talk you through what’s happening. Sometimes you need someone to firmly advocate for you in a room full of doctors. I’m good at both and I’ll read the room.

Everyone who walks through my (virtual) door deserves to feel safe, respected, and actually heard. I’m especially passionate about supporting plus-size individuals, who are way too often dismissed or overlooked in healthcare settings. Your body, your birth, your call. I’m just here to support you through it.

Credentials & Training

I take the learning side of this work seriously. Here’s where I’m at:

A Little About Me

When I’m not at a birth or elbow deep in postpartum care, you’ll find me on the water, out hiking, making something with my hands, or hanging with my dog Lando. I’m also pretty obsessed with orcas. Genuinely know an uncomfortable amount of facts about them. They’re the ultimate PNW caregivers.

I think some of the best wisdom comes from living fully, embracing the joy and the mess, and staying open to people, nature, and everything in between.

  • IMy practice is fully inclusive and welcoming of every identity and family structure. LGBTQ+ families, queer and trans birthing people, all of you belong here. Affirming care isn’t an add-on for me, it’s just how I work.

  • Everyone deserves safe, respectful, and compassionate care during birth. The reality is that racism in healthcare causes real harm, and birth spaces are no exception. I’m committed to continuing my education, being accountable, and actively working against racism in all its forms. I also believe deeply in supporting and uplifting BIPOC birth workers, whose leadership and lived experience are essential to this work.

  • I live and work on the ancestral land of the Duwamish People, who have cared for this place for thousands of years. I’m grateful to be here and committed to honoring their ongoing connection to this land.
